Halong Bay extension - this tour is available on demand
To the locals the limestone region of Ninh Binh is known as “Halong Bay on the Land.”
To understand why and to complete your “Limestone Landscape” experience we suggest you add on our two day Halong Bay tour. This trip can be taken before or after your Limestone Landscape cycle tour and if required we are happy to include extra accommodation in Hanoi.
You will be picked up at 8.00 a.m. from your local hotel by your English speaking guide before driving through the Red River Delta towards your boat at Halong City. On the way you will stop at a craft market selling beautiful products created by local handicapped artisans, make sure you leave some room in your suitcases!
Your boat will be a luxury version of a local junk, built in the traditional style but with private air-con rooms and en-suite bathrooms. Once aboard you are treated to a delicious seafood lunch before traveling into the heart of the bay with its three thousand limestone outcrops and islands. You will soon understand why Halong Bay is considered one of the wonders of the natural world.
Your tour will include a guided walk into a limestone cave, a visit to a floating fishing village and an option to sea kayak through a tunnel into a lagoon in the middle of an island completely surrounded by encircling cliffs. You will return from your kayak trip as the sun is sinking behind the multitude of islands and the surreal light show as you enjoy another fresh seafood meal on the deck is an amazing experience.
The next morning sees your boat navigate its way through the island maze back to the mainland and your waiting driver who will return you to your Hanoi hotel by late afternoon. We are happy to help you with extra lodging in Hanoi before or after your Halong Bay tour.
